Harmony between solemnity of Kyoto and beautiful autumn foliage
Kyoto is an old capital of Japan, where the Emperor lived until 19th century. Because Kyoto had been the center of Japanese culture for a long time, it maintains culture. Fortunately, Kyoto was not targeted for bombing during WW2, so it still has a lot of old buildings and art work. Now, there are more than 3,000 temples and shrines. And 16 temples and shrine and 1 castle are inscribed as World Culture Heritage site. Kyoto is frequently visited to appreciate these historical sites and the city’s heritage. More than 87 million visitors, 3.3 million of whom came from abroad, visited Kyoto in 2016.
A lot of Japanese people see Kyoto as a place where their cultural roots lie. By visiting its gardens and temples, seeing its historical arts, crafts, and tea ceremonies, and enjoying its beautiful arranged cuisine, the Japanese find reprieve from worry and stress and feel reunited with their identity.
Kiyomizu temple in Kyoto is one of the best place for autumn view
If you are interested in seeing the superb view of Autumn, I would recommend visiting Kiyomizu temple in Kyoto.
Kiyomizu-dera Temple is perhaps the most popular temples in Kyoto and is a fixture in the minds of the Japanese people. It was founded in 780 on the site of the Otowa Waterfall in the wooded hills east of Kyoto, and derives its name from the fall’s pure waters. Today, people from all over the world visit and drink water in hopes of health, success and longevity.
The most well-known aspect of Kiyomzu dera is the huge balcony of the main hall, which juts out on wooden pillars. It was originally built for ritual dances and is an impressive site. You can see all of downtown from here.
Autumn is the best season to visit. The hills and gardens on the temple grounds are so full of different colors which is absolutely beautiful.
Visit Kyoto and enjoy the beautiful autumn!
